Shamus Kelly - Chief Executive Officer and Board Member
Shamus has many years’ of experience within technology companies, particularly in the software industry (including 10 years in senior management positions at Lotus Development UK Ltd). Shamus gained entrepreneurial and smaller business skills in founding and growing one of the merged businesses within Portal Partnership – NetInfo Ltd.

 

Most recently, Shamus worked as Managing Director of Software Radio Technology plc (SRT), taking this company through private and institutional fund raising before a successful listing on the AIM market in November 2005. Shamus re-joined Portal Partnership in January 2007 as Operations Director.

 

Gary Appleton – Operations Director and Board Member
Gary has over 20 years experience in the IT Industry initially working as a programmer/systems analyst designing and developing Macro and C programmes for Barclays Bank branch systems before specialising in Network Management consultancy  with a number of consultancy companies including IBM.  He returned to IBM when the company acquired Tivoli Systems where he was employed as a Consultant architecting and implementing solutions throughout Europe.

In 1998 Gary left Tivoli/IBM and helped establish Elyzium Ltd which became one of the leading UK consultancy companies specialising in Enterprise Systems Management solutions predicated on the IBM Tivoli software portfolio.  Elyzium Ltd merged with Portal Partnership in June 2007 and Gary joined the Board of Portal Partnership in January 2008.  He has recently attained the IoD Diploma in Company Direction and is currently applying for  IoD Chartered Director qualification.

 

 

David Brown - Sales Director and Board Member
David has been working in the IT Industry for 25 years, his first role with Olivetti, at the time the industry's second largest supplier of PC's worldwide.

 

His career has encompassed Hardware, Networking, Software and Services elements with channels as diverse as Enterprise Accounts, Partners, Distributors and Small to Medium Businesses.  This experience has an international element too, as David has been responsible for the set-up and management of Sales and Marketing teams in Europe, the United States and in Australia.  This experience has been gained with a variety of vendors, typically "Start-up" ventures, smaller IT vendors and companies requiring some form of Sales and Marketing re-engineering.  The list includes IT Factory, Madge Networks, Quarterdeck, Specialix and a number of US based software ventures requiring their first footholds in international markets.

 

 

Peter Skeffington - Head of Solutions and Marketing

Peter spent the first 25 years of his career working in financial services, managing IT functions and, ultimately, as an IT DIrector at GE Capital in Southern Europe. During his time with GE Capital, Peter was also responsible for the implementation of the GE Six Sigma quality program in Portugal, a role that resulted in him progressing to Master Black Belt level.

 

In 2000, Peter decided it was time to gain smaller business experience and joined Time Technology Ltd as Managing Director. For the past 7 years he has re-invented that business, and created Time Solutions Ltd, a spin off business specialising in IBM Content Management. As a result of the Time Solutions merger into the Portal Partnership, Peter has taken on the role of Head of Solutions and Marketing at Portal Partnership.

 

 

Peter West - Finance Director and Board Member
Peter trained as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, qualifying in 1984.

 

Since then, Peter worked as Chief Accountant or Finance Director in a number of SMEs, with particular experience in the IT industry and Professional Services before becoming Finance Director for Portal Partnership.
