Storage Consolidation

The fact that your data volumes are increasing exponentially doesn’t mean that your storage costs should be doing the same.

The volumes of data that a business needs to manage have grown enormously over the years, and in many cases, businesses’ storage management strategies have not kept pace.  The effect of this is that money that could be spent on providing better access to information, is instead being spent on disks, rackspace, and power.

Alongside increased power costs go increased greenhouse gas emissions.  With growing emphasis on corporate social responsibility, there is an increasing requirement for IT to clean up its act.

Consolidation of storage enables faster, more flexible response to changes in storage requirements.  By improving storage utilisation it helps to reduce growth in terms of cost, space, and power consumption: improving the performance and availability of applications, reducing data-centre costs, and assisting corporate social responsibility efforts.
