IBM Classification Module

Deciding how to classify the business content in an organisation can be an arduous task. Traditionally, document taxonomies are difficult to maintain and can atrophy without the full-time of a “corporate librarian”. The IBM Classification Module automates the classification of unstructured content by analysing the textual content of documents and emails.

The automation of content classification accelerates the time-to-value of an enterprise content management investment, without burdening users with the task of manually classification.  With feedback from users and administrators, ICM will adapt its understanding to enable ever more accurate classification.  Classification review facilities enable a business to review the automated actions and to set the proper level of automation.

Finally, because no taxonomy is cast in stone, ICM will suggest refinements to the existing classification scheme, and will even propose new taxonomies, assisting in the reclassification of existing content.
