IBM FileNet Records Crawler

With local hard drives, memory sticks, email attachments, and fileshares, it isn’t really surprising that a typical business document may have over twenty instances around an organisation; but which one is the right one? How long should it be stored on the system? Is it a record? Should it be on the company system at all?

IBM FileNet Records Crawler enables a business to get the content that is scattered across network file systems under management and under control, quickly.  Records Crawler provides a fully automated and centralized document capture process, in which files matching specific business rules are automatically indexed and archived in the FileNet repository.

To make the move to managed content as pain free as possible for users, post-processing options include the ability to leave documents in place, move them, flag them, or replace source files with P8 shortcuts so that users will be able to find documents that had been loaded previously.
