IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager 4.2 - Web Gateway & Interface
Course Description
This course will teach you the basic skills needed to effectively install, configure, and deploy the IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager components Web Gateway and Web Interface. These components support pervasive devices and provide access to Configuration Manager services via a web browser.

Objectives

After completing the course, students should be able to accomplish the following:

  • Describe how Web Gateway and Web Interface provide Configuration Management services to non-Tivoli devices
  • Describe software and hardware requirements
  • Install and configure IBM DB2 7.2 for Web Gateway/Web Interface
  • Install and configure IBM WebSphere 4.0.3 for Web Gateway/Web Interface
  • Install and configure IBM Tivoli Access Manager 3.9 for Web Gateway/Web Interface
  • Install and configure Web Gateway for pervasive device and Web Interface support
  • Install and configure Web Interface
  • Describe and locate the application servers and enterprise applications which were installed on the WebSphere server
  • Locate Web Interface configuration and log files
  • Change Web Interface configuration parameters by editing configuration files
  • Publish Configuration Manager objects
  • Use Web Interface to run Inventory scans, distribute software, and apply Change Manager reference models
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Web Interface-initiated distributions
  • Use Web Interface query library
  • Remove Web Interface and Web Gateway software
  • List pervasive devices that Web Gateway supports
  • Describe the purpose of Resource Manager and Resource Manager gateways in device management
  • Prepare pervasive devices to be managed by Web Gateway
  • Add pervasive devices to a Tivoli environment
  • Describe the difference between static and dynamic enrollment of devices
  • Run inventory scans on and distribute software to pervasive devices
  • Locate Web Gateway configuration and log files
  • Use the pervasive device query library
  • Configure Web Gateway to provide security for pervasive device management
