Course Description
The AlarmPoint Standard Training Course is designed to introduce new users to Invoq's AlarmPoint Notification Server applications. Students will gain an understanding of AlarmPoint features, installation and day to day use of AlarmPoint. The course is hands-on, and combines discussion sessions with lab exercises to introduce and reinforce understanding of how to get the most benefit from the AlarmPoint applications.

Objectives
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will:

• Have a working knowledge of how to install and configure AlarmPoint hardware and software.
• Understand the lifecycle of an AlarmPoint Action Record.
• Be able to modify, enhance and debug AlarmPoint IQML scripts.
• Understand the communications flow between AlarmPoint, its gateways and management systems.
• Be able to perform the function of AlarmPoint System Administrator, providing first line support for end users.

Delegates will learn how to install and configure the hardware and software required to support an AlarmPoint Voice Server application. This includes:

• AlarmPoint Voice Server
• Microsoft IIS Web Server

Who will benefit from this course
The course is intended for the following:

• The new AlarmPoint users that want to learn how to navigate through AlarmPoint Web Interface and classical GUI, install and configure AlarmPoint and use it on a day-to-day basis
• Existing AlarmPoint users who are not aware of full capability of AlarmPoint software
• Any users that would like to learn using AlarmPoint to its full potential, customize and maintain it in their own environments

Required Skills Knowledge

• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows NT or Windows 2000 operating systems and applications
• Familiarity with a Management System (such as Tivoli TEC, HP OpenView BMC Patrol or PEM, etc.) is beneficial, but not required.
